The History
Sogedin is one of those classic stories of the venetian entrepreneurial classes that started in the 60's, when Doctor Antonio Calvani decided to buy one of the many venetian villas positioned in the venetian inland, and to be more precise in Monastier Treviso, and he transformed it into a luxurious hotel.
In the successive years Sogedin saw the changes of interest in this sector more and more up until today when it has become a group with various companies with more than 600 staff
The vocation of owning a hotel and giving hospitality has always been in Doctor Calvani's heart, and thanks to his children this sector has had a particular interesting development.
In the 70's at the side of the villa he built, now known as "Relais Villa Fiorita", an important hotel structure with 150 rooms and a congress centre with more than 1000 places, therefore gliving life to one of the biggest poli congress centres in the whole of the northwest the Park Hotel Villa Fiorita.
In the 90's, his son Fabrizio became the company's delegated administrator who manages the hotels and an ulterior development started by his father. In 1991, not far from Venice airport the Hotel Antony had it's opening with 114 rooms, the only hotel in Mestre which has a beautiful view of the venetian lagoon.
In the venetian inland in 2006 the Antony Palace Hotel had it's grand opening, close to the Marcon shopping centre.
The new structure has 140 rooms, congress centre and wellness centre. The daring architectural style and the rich furnishings make this hotel probably the most beautiful in the outer city.
But the group does not finish here, in the near future Sogedin is programming a new opening in the city of Venice with a four star superior hotel and successive projects should expand to the principal cities of art, Rome and Florence to begin with. |
